Service Learning at WMS

Service Learning
at WMS

Service-learning is a method of teaching, learning and reflecting that combines academic classroom curriculum with meaningful service throughout the community. It falls under the philosophy of experiential education. More specifically, it integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, encourage lifelong civic engagement, and strengthen communities for the common good.

There are three specific opportunities for WMS students to participate in Service Learning. To learn more about these programs, please review the brochure attached below and/or contact Laura Kennedy, WMS Counselor.

Students applying for any service learning program must submit a completed application by Friday, May 12th, 2017, to Mrs. Kennedy or the middle school office. Please remember parent signature is required. The application is attached below.
