Our WMS and WHS Science Olympiad team traveled to Springfield over the weekend to compete against the top 64 Division B and C teams in Missouri. We had several WMS event teams bring home hardware!
Our winning teams were:
Gerrit and Gavin - 4th place in Flight
Gavin and Johnathan - 4th place in Meteorology
Kellen and Peyton - 5th place in Forestry
Luke and Gerrit - 6th place in Road Scholar
Maddox and Kellen - 6th place in Roller Coaster
William and Peyton - 6th place in Dynamic Planet
This concludes our Science Olympiad season. Our kids worked hard and the efforts paid off! Congratulations, all!!

On Friday, WSD teams participated in a GooseChase experience at the Springfield Botanical Gardens, completing missions to find specific items or perform specific actions. 7th grade Social Studies students in Mrs Stillwell’s classes created Olympic board games and spent the past couple of days strategizing and playing their games while learning about Ancient Greece! #TigerPride

6th grade Quest Social Studies students recently participated in “GET TO KNOW WHERE YOUR STATES ARE” activities using clues, codes and break out boxes in order to unlock the final activity: Shrinky Dink States. #TigerPride
In Design and Modeling we created puzzles with cubes. Then we had a competition and Emery won our white day challenge! #TigerPride
The Johnson County Emergency Management team presented the 8th grade Peer Helpers with their Teen CERT graduation certificates and emergency preparedness backpacks this morning! #TigerPride
